Financial data deserves
a paper trail.
SEC API helps developers retrieve SEC EDGAR company information, recent filing metadata, and XBRL facts through a managed JSON API.
The source is public. The engineering is the product.
The SEC provides free public APIs. We add account-based access, shared upstream rate limiting, persistent caching, normalized filing records, and explicit source and freshness metadata. You can also access the SEC directly.
Correctness before convenience
A reported value has a unit, a period, a filing, and sometimes a revision. We preserve those fields. We do not silently turn a filing fact into an investment conclusion.
Corrections are part of the record
When we correct published guidance, we document the change in our public correction ledger. Our guides distinguish upstream SEC behavior from capabilities this product actually ships.
