Terms of service

SEC API is an independent developer service operated by Gabriele Muratori. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Accounts and permitted use

Keep your credentials secure. Use the service lawfully and within your plan limits. Do not bypass rate limits, access another account, disrupt the service, or misrepresent the source of the data. You are responsible for your applications and their handling of data.

Data and limitations

Data originates from SEC public records. The service currently provides company lookup, recent filing metadata, and entity-wide XBRL facts from supported standard taxonomies. It does not guarantee complete historical filing coverage, error-free data, or continuous availability. Source records may be amended, unavailable, or cached. Inspect source links, units, periods, and freshness before relying on results.

Subscriptions

Published prices are monthly in US dollars. Plan allowances reset each UTC calendar month and do not roll over. Paid subscriptions renew until canceled through the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Checkout clearly identifies sandbox testing when no real payment is collected. Contact us about billing errors before initiating a dispute.

No investment advice or affiliation

The service provides data and developer documentation, not investment recommendations. We are not affiliated with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission or sec-api.io. Access to a public filing does not grant rights in third-party copyrighted material it may contain.

Service changes and access

We may update the service, correct records, or suspend access for abuse or security reasons. We will make material terms changes visible on this page. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without guarantees of suitability for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
