QUALITY YOU CAN INSPECT

Every value needs
a paper trail.

Our data-quality contract starts with preserving what the SEC reports and explaining exactly which source records each response includes.

Source and freshness are part of the response.

Cached SEC-source responses carry a source URL, fetch timestamp, stale flag, and request identifier. Imported bulk snapshots carry the archive URL, retrieval timestamp, SHA-256 hash, period, and immutable import identifier instead. A fetch timestamp describes when our service retrieved a dataset; it is not the SEC’s publication timestamp. Filing rows preserve their accession number and link to the original document.

What we check

  • Requested company identifiers must match the company returned by the SEC.
  • Filing columns must align so dates, forms, accession numbers, and documents stay attached to the same record.
  • XBRL observations must contain finite numeric values and the required period and filing references.
  • Invalid source responses fail validation; successful responses must fit bounded response sizes.
  • Accessions identify filings. Units, periods, taxonomies, and filing references distinguish financial observations.

What we preserve

Restatements and repeated facts remain separate records. We do not replace missing values, guess a currency conversion, collapse annual and quarterly periods, or represent Company Facts as a reconstructed financial statement. A value can be valid source data and still be unsuitable for your analysis.

When upstream data cannot be refreshed

A validated cached dataset may be served for up to 24 hours from its last successful fetch, with stale: true. If no usable dataset exists, the API returns an error. Your application should decide whether stale data is acceptable for its workflow.

Imported archives keep their vintage.

The Form D offering dataset serves a validated quarterly archive. It preserves notices and amendments as filed, source decimal strings, and issuer relationships. A reported offering amount is not proof of capital raised. Snapshot metadata identifies the precise archive and import; the API does not silently substitute an unimported quarter.

Archive imports validate checksums, required columns, identifiers, and record relationships before making a snapshot available. A failed import leaves the previous completed snapshot intact. Quarterly snapshots are not a live filing stream.

Live cache visibility

At this page request, the cache contains 46 source datasets, of which 24 are within their configured freshness windows.

Most recent successful source fetch: 2026-10-27T05:18:23.276Z.

These are operational cache counts, not a measure of total SEC coverage or a verified financial-accuracy score.

Know the coverage before you query.

Read the filing API’s coverage contract, the Company Facts interpretation guide, and the export limits. Compare any critical result with its original SEC filing.
